2016 IES Principal Investigators Meeting

December 15th and 16th the 2016 Institute of Education Sciences (IES) Principal Investigators Meeting will be held at the Washington Hilton, near our Washington DC bed and breakfast. The theme for this year’s conference is Making it Matter: Rigorous Research from Design to Dissemination, which will focus on research projects that will lead to significant improvements in schools and student outcomes. The IES Principal Investigators Meeting will be an opportunity to discuss and address the U.S. Department of Education programs, the new methodological approaches from IES-funded projects, and address solutions to the educational programs. It will also provide a time to connect and network with other IES fellows. What is IES? IES is an independent, non-partisan organization dedicated to research, evaluation, and statistics as it relates to the education in the US.

The schedule will consist of a variety of sessions, program meetings, and plenaries throughout the two-day conference. Similar to last year’s conference, there will additionally be roundtables on critical education topics, panel sessions focused on research findings, IES technical assistance sessions, poster sessions, and time for program officer and networking meetings. To participate in 2016 IES Principal Investigators Meeting you can register for free on their website. A block of rooms have been saved for the conference at the Washington Hilton for $182 plus tax per night, but you must book your room ahead of time.
