With the cooler months approaching, now is the time to start planning some fun indoor activities. The Observation Deck in Washington, D.C. is a must see on your next trip into the city. This one-of-a-kind experience is located only 3.7 miles from the heart of downtown and American Guest House.
What is The Observation Deck you ask? It is a 12,000 square foot building in Arlington, Virginia that gives an unparalleled 360 degree view of Washington, D.C. The building has floor-to-ceiling windows to catch a glimpse of everything the city has to offer. You are able to get an overheard view of Washington Monument, the Potomac River and so much more. It is a great stop on a chilly day because it offers so much more than breath taking views. Inside you can check out the touch screen displays and learn more about the landmarks in the city or you can step into someone else’s shoes in the multi-sided holographic display and watch historical figures come to life and tell their stories.
The Observation Deck is open 7 days a week with hours on Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday and Sundays from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Ticket prices are $22 for adults, $12 for youth ages 5-13 and free for children under the age of 5. If you are in the military, a student or a senior over 65, it is $16.98 to get in. If you plan ahead and purchase your tickets online, you can save a few dollars as well.
