The Obama’s have invited the Four Tops and The Temptations to dine with them on Friday, December 12 at the White House, DC., just a short distance from our Washington DC Lodging.
The only surviving founding member from the Four Top’s is Abdul “Duke” Fakir and Otis Williams claims that designation for The Temptations.
Both groups will start a one-week Broadway show later in the month. They really like to horse around on stage but they have reassured the Obama’s they will behave at dinner. The Four Tops happen to be the Presidents favorite Motown group and he said as much in an interview with CNN recently.
This has not been the first time either group has been to the White House. They have not only visited the White House before, but have also performed for Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
Starting the 29th of December, both groups will kick off a seven-show series at the Palace Theatre.
The groups are also famous for their harmony, dancing in sync, and their wardrobes.
That era of music is certainly a favorite of mine.
