What is Open in Washington DC During the Pandemic

With the Pfizer, Moderna, and even Johnson and Johnson vaccines rollout programs taking place all over the country, people are feeling way more comfortable with the idea of boarding airplanes, trains, and automobiles.  Washington, DC is operating under Phase Two which encompasses the reopening of museums, attractions, and restaurants.  There is a capacity limit at all public places but quite workable at the moment since there aren’t that many visitors around yet.

Even with the existing restrictions due to the COVID-19 ongoing pandemic, our nation’s capital is still quite attractive to visitors because of its expansive open areas.  When visiting DC, plan to stay for at least 3-5 days to allow time to see and experience some of the activities that’s available.

The most popular activities presently involve walks around the National Mall, the Arlington Cemetery, the Monuments, the trendy areas such as Georgetown, Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Kalorama, where the Obamas, Jeff Bezos, political figures and many of DC’s rich and famous personalities reside, as well as the Embassy Roll locations.  There are beautiful trails for hiking and bicycle lovers, Rock Creek Park, a green oasis in the middle of DC, and the C&O Canal by the Potomac River.  One can also hike or walk around town, cross over to Bethesda and Chevy Chase for great restaurants, events, and attractions, and the like.  If gambling is your thing, MGM at the National Harbor in MD is ready for you with great shopping, restaurants, and bars. All is easily accessible from Alexandria, not far from George Washington’s home in Mount Vernon, Virginia.  The point is, there is a myriad of activities to do in the Washington Metropolitan area right now, especially if you enjoy great restaurants, bars, and the outdoors.

DC is way more than just politics, come and experience the nation’s capital and be ready to fall in love.  While here make American Guest House, a Washington, DC Bed and Breakfast your home away from home. We have kept our door open for you! 🙂
