This August 29 – September 1st Care Net will be holding its 2017 National Conference at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in sunny Washington DC, just a .7 mile walk from our District of Columbia B&B. For years, Care Net has been saving lives through giving mothers and fathers another choice other than that of abortion. On their website, a striking billboard flashes on the front that says 531,977 lives saved. These lives are those of the babies whom the mothers chose not to abort, but to either parent them or put them up for adoption to a caring family that will give the baby all that it needs for the God given life everyone deserves.
Since 1975, Care Net’s mission has been to acknowledge that every human life begins at conception and is worthy of protection. Offering compassion, hope, and help to anyone considering abortion by presenting them with realistic alternatives and Christ-centered support through our life-affirming network of pregnancy centers, organizations, and individuals.
Over 1000 attended last years conference where Russell Moore, President of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, shared a life giving message and was also joined by a number of other keynote speakers. This is a place to come worship, learn at many of the sessions, workshops and exhibits, and connect with those who share the same passion as you. This year, the theme of the conference is “The Foundation: Standing on the Cornerstone of our Faith,” based on Psalm 62:2 which says, “Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
