Most people when out of town, whether on vacation or a business trip, like to spend their night eating at some place nice, drinking a glass of wine, and most of all, not feeling rushed. A little known secret about the Washington Hilton is that it has a restaurant, open to the public, inside of it. McClellan’s Sports Bar, located just a 2 minute walk from our Washington DC Bed and Breakfast, is a great place to enjoy yourself. Whether you want a fine dining experience, just want to go to a bar, or needing to catch the basketball or football game, this place will fit your every need.
McClellan’s Sports Bar, inside the Washington Hilton, and just north of DuPont Circle, is fitted with a full fledged bar, 15 flat screen TVs, luxurious and comfortable seating, and commendable customer service. Enter either from the main entrance located on T Street NW or the drop-off/pick-up entrance located on Connecticut Ave. The Menu has any wine, cocktail or alcoholic beverage you desire, as well as many appetizers, salads and entrees. While you’re waiting for your Red Wine Braised Oxtail Garganelli or Five Spiced, Seared 72- Short Rib, enjoy a complimentary mix of nuts. Still hungry? They have a dessert menu with 5 delicious choices, including one of my favorites, the Apple Pie with Vanilla ice cream on top. Each day its opened from 11am to 1am.
McClellan’s Sports Bar, at the Washington Hilton, is a great choice not just because of the great food and atmosphere, but also because it’s a stone’s throw from our Washington DC B&B. Rooms starting at $149 a night, including a fresh made breakfast to start your day, made personally by our own Chef Kevin, many business travelers and vacationers alike choose us time and time again to be their home away from home while visiting Washington DC.
