2017 Rock and Roll DC Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K

Are you ready to Rock? Are you ready to Roll? Are you ready to Run? This year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Washington DC Marathon is March 11th. This race is a 26.2 mile race starting and finishing at RFK Stadium, weaving through many of DC’s best neighborhoods including Kalorama, Popular Point and Adams Morgan, providing runners and spectators with views of more than monuments and the National Mall. There is also a half marathon which is 13.1 miles and a 5K race which allows a wider range of runners to participate. Is this your first marathon? Or are you thinking about running one day? Check out this helpful guide on running your first marathon.

There is also a Health & Fitness Expo, March 9-10, Thursday12-7 p.m. and Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.  at the Washington Convention Center, located at 801 Mount Vernon Place NW Washington, DC. Many vendors and exhibits that will cater to runners, walkers, and watchers alike will be on hand. The free event features more than 50 exhibitors displaying the latest running shoes and apparel, nutritional information and fitness trends.

Many roads around Washington, DC will be closed during the Marathon. It is suggested that runners and spectators use Metro. The Metro will open an hour earlier than usual, at 6 a.m. to accommodate participants.
