Global Ties 2017 National Meeting

The Global Ties 2017 National Meeting will take place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, near our Washington DC bed and breakfast, from February 8th-11th. This year’s conference theme is Unity in Community as it will be a time to meet and connect with leading experts in the fields of international exchange, foreign affairs, and diplomacy. Global Ties 2017 will focus on the supporting and providing networks of leaders to promote peace and prosperity across the globe. Global Ties brings together organizations, U.S. government agencies, and leaders in the international exchange field for a top-notch conference that provides insight on trends in the field and opportunities to build networks with other attendees.

The schedule will consist of plenary sessions, panels, networking events, speakers and more. Some of the sessions include, The Era of Engagement: East Asia and the Pacific, The Impact of Welcoming New Immigrants into Our Community, The Ins and Outs of Federal Regulations and Lessons from the Road: Best Practices Shared by Liaisons/Interpreters. Additionally, there will be distinguished speakers who are experts in the field of international exchange. A few of the speakers this year are: Ukiah Busch, the Senior Strategic Affiliations Officer at Partners, Urooj Arshad, the Associate director, International Youth Health and Rights at Advocates for Youth, and Melissa Golladay, the Senior Director for Professional Leadership Exchanges and Youth Engagement.

Registration fees for Global Ties 2017 are $390 for Global Ties U.S. Members and $495 for Non-members, if registered before December 23rd. If you register after December 23rd by January 25th, tickets are $450 for Global Ties U.S. Members and $555 for Non-members. Single day tickets are also available for purchase. Hotel reservations are not included in the price, however, the rate for attendees at the Omni Shoreham Hotel is $210 plus tax per night.
