DC Jazz Festival 2016

This year, the well-known DC Jazz Festival has two special locations!  From June 17th to the 19th, there will be shows all day in the Southwest Navy Yard neighborhood which is right near the water, and only a few miles away from our Dupont Circle Bed and Breakfast.  The second location is the Hamilton Stage in Downtown DC, and they will be running nightly 7pm shows from June 10th to June 19th.  The DC Jazz Festival itself is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, presenting internationally renowned and emerging artists in celebration of jazz through dynamic programs that advance jazz and music education, unify diverse communities, enable connections between artists and audiences, and enhance economic growth in the District.

The signature programs are the annual DC Jazz Festival, presented annually since 2005;  the year-round DCJF Education Program, established in 2008; and the Charles Fishman Embassy Series, established in 2012.  With such significant roots in D.C., this festival is the perfect summer time activity to get family and friends out to enjoy the local culture and beautiful weather.

Here’s a look at the D.C. Jazz Festival from last year.  This two- day blow out has been famed for it’s massive outdoor tent that covers thousands from the sun and rain.
