When it comes to diversity, the more there is of it the better off the world. At least that seems to be true when it comes to ice cream flavors, and I am assuming it is the same for the legal profession. Should you happen to draw the same conclusion, then the Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference 2015 from June 29th to June 30th might be of interest to you.
The two-day event is organized by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA), a group more than qualified to discuss themes such as inclusivity, leadership, and individual empowerment, as well as teach others the skills to incorporate them in their everyday life. The MCCA assists commonly under-represented groups — due to race/ethnicity, gender, disability status, and more — with resources to increase their awareness and knowledge in order to create more equality within the legal profession. During the actual conference, participants will be challenged to learn, connect, and become inspired through activities such as educational and interactive workshops, speeches and presentations, and networking opportunities. While the actual event takes place at the Grand Hyatt Washington, the two days will be brought to a close by a keynote address delivered by Microsoft’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Brad Smith at the evening gala held at Washington DC’s famous Kennedy Center.
If you appreciate diversity, in either your selection of dairy dessert flavors or in the justice system, this might be the conference for you.
