The Voice: auditions held in DC 2014

Ever go through those “what if…” regrets over lost dreams in you day-to-day life? Everything that seemed possible as a child: firefighter, president, ballet dancer, zoo keeper; all those careers decomposed into the hot, sticky place of our souls where we ruminate over what could have been.

What about a singer?  Well, now is your chance to grab that childhood aspiration and turn it into your reality. The Voice, an Emmy Award NBC series that features unknown artists, is coming to DC. Close to our Washington DC Inn, open auditions will be held at the Walter E Washington Convention Center, June 7-8. This exciting TV show will sweep the district to find upcoming talent for “solo artists and duos that perform all types of music: pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop, alternative, latin, country, blues, indie.”–nbcthevoice.com.  After selected, competitors go into the first round of blind auditions—music coaches pick on voice alone. Teams are then set to battle each other with the same songs. The battle wraps up with only the strongest vocalists–who compete for their coach’s final decision to take them to the last phase. The live shows are composed with these top talent stars singing their hearts away to take home the title of “The Voice” with a grand prize and recording contract. Visit The Voice for further information on how you can become a contestant.

DC is filled so much political ambition that creative talents are often ignored or suppressed. Be the one who tries something else. Your artistic abilities are too awesome to go unnoticed for another fiscal year!
