Visiting Washington DC Versus New York

New York is definitely a fun place to visit. However, Washington, DC is even better.  Why?  Allow me please, I am going to list a few of the reasons why you should visit Washington DC anytime of the year with your family, friends or even by yourself.  Yes, by all means, visit New York, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, Orlando, California, but believe me, when I say, you haven’t experienced America yet, if you haven’t done DC.  This city is in a class all by it self and once you come you will return year after year.  Take my word for it.

To begin with, DC is beautiful!  DC is fun and  DC is culture!  DC is a place to see and be seen!  DC is history in the making…  DC is probably one of the safest cities in the world for tourists.  DC is friendly.  DC is the most powerful city in the world and this should be enough reason to come and see for yourself what this is all about.

If you like food, there is no better place to be.  Here you can eat food from probably most countries in the world.  You can rub shoulders with politicians (while they eat), see the most famous house in the world (White House),  meet famous people in town for business, shows, presentations, movie making, concerts, conventions and the list goes on, you may even get to see the Obamas eating around town: they enjoy food and the president could use a few more pounds and did he pick the right city?

Not only that, if you like art, there are several art galleries and museums to entertain you.  If you like theater, what a treat it is to spend a few hours at the Kennedy Center watching a play, ballet, concert, or just being around some pretty powerful people.  Politics!  Of course, this is where it all began and this is where it will all end.  Are you a history buff – This is the place to be.  Do you like the night scene?   Come experience places such as Adams Morgan, DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Woodley Park, a night at the museums, cocktail parties, there are plenty of those every night, conventions, a ton of them, monuments, beautiful scenaries, old and new in contrast together, young and old, protesters, people from all over the world.   What about shopping, there is plenty of it around, from high end boutiques to outlets all within public transportation.

Your really don’t need a car in DC, as a matter of fact you would enjoy the city much more without a car.  There are plenty of taxis, metro/subway and buses around, and it is pretty affordable too now that they regulated the taxi fares.

As for a place to stay, there are plenty and the deals are incredible, the competition in between hotels, motels, hostels, guest houses, Inns and Bed and Breakfasts is fierce, translating into great deals to you, the traveler.  We all want you to stay with us and we do all we can to make your stay unforgettable.

And the best news yet:  all the Smithsonian museums and monuments and memorials are free (still), so don’t delay, come and see us – you will be glad you did.

Hurray to Washington, DC!

Life is short – spend it traveling!
