Close to great restaurants and metro. Room was spacious and clean with an ultra comfortable bed!  Breakfast was hand made each morning to order. Our personal choice has always been boutique, B&B or small places where we can receive a more personalized service, and sure enough The American Guest House provided that and much more.
Lucia, the owner is a beautiful sweet lady, who is constantly looking for ways to go above and beyond expectations.
The Guest House is a historic colonial style house with twelve rooms, and plenty of history. The house has four flours with no elevators, so it is a great opportunity for exercising and staying in shape. Please don’t let this deter you though. The staff will take care of bringing your luggage to your room. Being here feels like traveling back in history when quality really mattered.
Our room was clean and spotless and this was evident with the entire B&B. Kudos to the staff.
Matthew, the manager is also very capable, polite and efficient.
The warm breakfast is personalized and served with love. The dinning area has a refrigerator where you can take whatever your preference is, from a small bowl with variety of fruits, Greek yogurt, diversity of milks, butter, peanut butter, among others; variety’s of breads, some muffins, coffee and teas. The warm breakfast consists of eggs, with veggies and bacon. Or, a more personal touch if desired.
There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance to choose from.
We appreciate so much the recommendations, support and kindness of both Lucia and Matthew, during our stay. For sure they made our time in Washington DC so special and unforgettable. Thank you!!
