A Night at DC Improv

Everyone one knows when you come to Washington, DC that you must see the monuments and the Smithsonian museums, but what visitors may not know is that another must-see attraction is the DC Improv. After a long day of walking around the National Mall, head over the DC Improv to get a drink, relax, and enjoy a night of comedy. For the past 25 years, the DC Improv has been a city staple with a long list of successful comedians taking the stage. In 1992, the comedy club opened its doors and the first show featured none other than Ellen DeGeneres, Dave Chappelle, and Brian Regan. To this day, the DC Improv remains a hub for the nation’s best comedians with shows by Louis CK, Jerry Seinfeld, Judd Apatow, Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr and many more.

DC Improv is located just down the road from our Washington DC hotel near Farragut Square. The comedy club has multiple shows each week, including celebrity stand-ups, open-mic nights, improv, trivia nights and sketch shows. To accompany the laughs, they provide a menu of drinks and snacks for you to enjoy. Ticket prices to the shows vary depending on the headliner, but many of their shows and events are free to attend! A few of the upcoming shows are Tony Rock, Jim Ross, Daman Wayans Jr., Iliza Shlesinger and Adam Ferrera.

If you’re a DC local and want to not only watch comedy but also learn the tricks of the trade, check out the comedy classes they offer. Their comedy school consists of year-round improv, stand-up, and sketch writing classes from skilled and experienced teachers. Whether you’ve taken classes before or you’re just starting out, they have a class for you!
