The National Air and Space Museum possesses the world’s largest acquisition of historic air and spacecraft in the world. The museum has two facilities. The National Mall building contains artifacts such as the Apollo 11 command module. The Udvar-Hazy Center near Washington Dulles airport contains a much larger collection of artifacts.
Both sites are open daily from 10am to 5:30pm, and both are closed on December 25th. Admission to the museum is free for all ages. All visitors are subject to security screening. Parking is available at the Udvar Hazy Center. For additional information for extended summer hours and parking, please visit the website.
The National Mall Building is accessible by the Smithsonian metro station (blue and orange line), as well as the L’enfant metro station (blue, orange, green and yellow lines).
