NCSC 2026, the 54th National Collegiate Security Conference (NCSC LIV), brings college Model UN delegations to the Washington Hilton from Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, 2026. Georgetown’s International Relations Association runs the conference. Its site describes NCSC as “attended by 800+ delegates from around the world.” This guide is for faculty advisers, head delegates, conference staff, and delegates who want a quieter room near the venue. It covers the published schedule, getting around, where to eat, and staying at American Guest House, a historic bed and breakfast in Kalorama that is a 5-minute walk from the Hilton.

What does the NCSC 2026 schedule look like day by day?

The organizer’s published schedule shapes when you need to be at the Hilton:

  • Thursday, November 5: Delegation check-in 1-6 PM in Columbia West. Opening Ceremony at 4:30 PM. Session I starts between 6:45 and 7:15 PM by committee bloc and runs past 9 PM. Head delegate feedback and a head delegate reception follow later that night.
  • Friday, November 6: Morning committee excursions (times vary) and an Opportunities Fair from 10 AM to 1 PM. Session II in the afternoon; Session III from about 6 to 9:30 PM.
  • Saturday, November 7: Session IV starts between 10:30 and 11 AM; Session V runs from about 4 to 7:30 PM.
  • Sunday, November 8: Session VI at 10 AM for all blocs; Closing Ceremonies 1-2 PM.

In practice, that means three nights (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) and late evenings. Events marked with an asterisk are not at the Washington Hilton. The Delegate Guide will have the latest schedule and map. Read it before you travel.

How far is American Guest House from the Washington Hilton?

American Guest House is a 5-minute walk from the Washington Hilton. Sessions end after 9 PM on Thursday and Friday, and head delegate feedback runs later still. A short walk back to Kalorama is simpler than a late ride across town. Advisers can also return between sessions to answer email or rest, then go back for committee.

Dupont Circle station on the Red Line is a 10-minute walk from the house. The NCSC travel and hotel page gives organizer advice on reaching the Hilton from Reagan National, Dulles, and Union Station. Our guides to hotels near the Washington Hilton and our Kalorama bed and breakfast near the Washington Hilton show the walk and the neighborhood.

Where should NCSC advisers and delegates eat near the Hilton?

Places near the venue with hours re-checked the week of October 5, 2026:

  • Bistrot du Coin – 1738 Connecticut Avenue NW. French bistro south of the Hilton. Tuesday-Friday lunch and dinner; Saturday-Sunday brunch and dinner. Solid for a group dinner when committees break.
  • Iron Gate – 1734 N Street NW. Dinner nightly from 5:30; lunch Tuesday-Friday; weekend brunch. Quieter than Connecticut Avenue when you need a table for advisers.
  • Tryst – 2459 18th Street NW, Adams Morgan, near American Guest House. Coffee early, food through the day, later hours Thursday-Saturday until midnight. Useful after late Session III or for Sunday coffee before Closing Ceremonies.

Thursday and Friday run late. Plan meals around Session III and head delegate feedback rather than a fixed restaurant reservation you cannot move.

Who does the house suit during NCSC?

American Guest House is a historic bed and breakfast in an 1893 row house. It has 12 ensuite guest rooms; each has one bed (double or queen). There are no two-bed rooms and no rollaways, so we are not a fit for delegations that plan to share rooms. The house works well for:

  • Faculty advisers and coaches who want their own room near the delegation
  • Head delegates and conference staff who prefer a quieter place between late sessions
  • Individual delegates traveling alone

Kalorama is a residential neighborhood of embassies and older homes. It is calm at night after a long committee day. Adams Morgan is nearby for casual food. Dupont Circle, south along Connecticut Avenue, has more restaurants and the Red Line. Because NCSC includes committee excursions to embassies, think tanks, and other Washington organizations, you may cross the city on Friday morning. Starting from Dupont Circle gives you a direct Red Line route downtown. Our guide to Dupont Circle Metro and Embassy Row on foot covers walks around the house.

What else is happening at the Hilton that weekend?

NCSC is not the only large group at the Washington Hilton that weekend. The FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference is at the same hotel from November 5-7, 2026, according to FBLA. Downtown, the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law holds its 20th Annual Labor & Employment Law Conference at the Marriott Marquis from November 4-7. When two conferences share one hotel on the same dates, official blocks can fill early. If you are an adviser still arranging your own room, book soon.

What is free to do in DC during NCSC weekend?

Smithsonian museums are free. If you have a gap between Session IV and Session V on Saturday, or after Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, the National Mall museums are a Red Line ride from Dupont Circle. Check Smithsonian visit guidelines for hours and any timed-entry rules. No admission fee; budget Metro time.
