The 22nd Annual Academic Surgical Congress is February 9–11, 2027, at the Washington Hilton. American Guest House is in Kalorama, one block from that building. The walk is about two minutes.
We are a historic bed and breakfast in an 1893 row house at 2005 Columbia Road NW, Washington, DC 20009. Eleven guest rooms, each with a private ensuite. Conference guests usually take one to four nights, walk over in the morning, and come back to a quiet Sheridan-Kalorama street when they are done.

The congress lists the Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20009, as the official host hotel. If you need registration or the Hilton group block, use those official pages. The Hilton notes a reservation deadline of January 12, 2027, for its contracted rate, or until that block is gone. That is their product. We do not publish a program, name speakers, or guess how many rooms the congress is using.
Stay with a friend, not the host hotel
Adams Morgan is close if you want a late dinner. It is not where this house lives. Hotel listings sometimes file the area under Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. That is a hotel map, not our front door.
The Hilton is built for a congress. We are built for a guest who wants to leave the convention floor and sleep in a house. People who stay with us describe it as staying with a friend in the city.
Breakfast is homemade and served at the table. It is included on Standard Rate and Last Minute Deal only. It is not included on Corporate. It is not included on Non-Refundable. If you want breakfast, pick one of the two rates that include it.
Check-in is 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. If you land earlier, we can hold bags from 10:00 am. Checkout is 11:00 am. That works for a first-day morning session if you arrived the night before.
The walk, twice a day
From our porch to the Hilton is one block. About two minutes. Coat on, down Columbia Road, and you are on Connecticut Avenue. You do not need a shuttle. You do not need a rideshare for the meeting days.
Dupont Circle Metro (Red Line) is a 7 to 10 minute walk. From Reagan National, take Metro to Dupont Circle and walk north. From Union Station, Red Line to Dupont Circle. If you stay on after the congress, the same walk gets you toward Embassy Row.
February in this city is cold. The walk is short enough that you will not mind.
Parking
We have no on-site parking. Street parking on these blocks is residential and often two-hour. If you are driving, book a nearby garage on SpotHero before you arrive. The Hilton garage sits at Florida and 19th. That is a real option. A curb space at 9:00 pm is not something we can promise.
Many guests skip the car. For a one-to-four-night congress stay, Metro plus two feet is simpler.
Book the nights you need
Most people with us for this meeting take one to four nights. Some arrive February 8 and check out February 12. Some book only the three congress dates. Book what you will actually use. Eleven rooms go when a Hilton week is busy. We do not hold a secret overflow block.
