The Washington Hilton is one block from our front door, making the house a practical base for a conference, meeting, or visit to Embassy Row without giving up the character of a historic bed and breakfast.
We are American Guest House, an 1893 row house. Row house describes the building. Bed and breakfast describes the house and the stay. We are not the host hotel, and Adams Morgan is nearby but is not where this house lives.

Walkable from Kalorama
Dupont Circle Metro is a 7 to 10 minute walk from the house. Embassy Row is a walk from that station, and the neighborhood also puts guests within walking distance of the Phillips Collection, National Zoo, Adams Morgan, and Rock Creek Park. The Washington Hilton is one block away, so conference guests can walk to the venue and return to a residential neighborhood.
There is no parking on site. Street spaces are often two-hour residential spaces. SpotHero or the Hilton garage at Florida and 19th are the usual options. Guests who plan to drive should review parking arrangements before arrival rather than assume the house has an on-site lot.
