Walking Directions from Dupont Circle Metro Station (Red Line): 
(Half Mile - 10 minutes or less)

• From the Dupont Circle Metro Station, follow signs to "Q" Street or  North Connecticut Avenue, towards the Zoo.
• Once at the top of the stairway, go North on Connecticut Avenue, towards the Zoo.
• Go straight ahead on Connecticut Avenue, keeping to the right side of the street.
• Columbia Road starts by the Washington Hilton at Connecticut and T St.
• American Guest House is located half a block on the left side at 2005 Columbia Road, NW., please look for the blue awning.

 

Directions from the North (Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware and New York):

• Take I-95 South to I-495 West.
• Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue South.
• Continue on Connecticut Avenue for about 7.5 miles.
• Turn left onto Wyoming Ave,
• Go 1 block, turn right onto Columbia Road
• Go half a block to 2005 Columbia Road
• American Guest House has the blue awning

• Take I-95 North to I-395 North to route 1 (14th Street Bridge).
• Follow 14th Street for 1 mile.
• Turn left onto K Street.
• Continue on K Street for 5 blocks.
• Turn right onto Connecticut Avenue. 
• Follow Connecticut Avenue for almost 1 mile
• Bear right onto Columbia Road by the Washington Hilton.

• Take I-70 East to I-270 South to I-495 East.

BY CAR/SHUTTLE

• Take Dulles Toll Road to I-66 East to Washington.
• Cross over the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge.
• Exit off Constitution Avenue.
• Continue on Constitution Avenue for 6 blocks
• Make a left turn onto 17th Street.
• 17th Street will become Connecticut Avenue.
• Continue on Connecticut Avenue for almost 1 mile
• Bear Right onto Columbia Road by the Washington Hilton.
• American Guest House is  at 2005 on the Left with the blue awning.

• Take the 5A Metrobus from Dulles airport to the Rosslyn Metro (subway) station.
• At the Rosslyn Metro station, take the Orange Line train.
• Get off at Metro Center (4th stop).
• Transfer to the Red Line train toward Shady Grove.
• Get off at Dupont Circle (2nd stop).
• Take the Q Street Exit towards, North, Zoo
• Walk North towards Connecticut Ave for about 5 blocks.

BY METRO (subway)

• Take the Yellow Line from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro Station towards U Street Cardozo.
• At the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Station, transfer to the Red Line, toward Shady Grove.
• Get off at Dupont Circle Station (third stop).
• Take the Q Street Exit towards North, Zoo
• Walk North on Connecticut Ave for about 5 blocks.

• Start going toward the Airport Exit - go 0.6 mi
• Take George Washington Memorial Pkwy N toward Washington DC - go 1.1 mi
• Take the I-395 N exit toward Downtown - go 0.6 mi
• Take left fork onto US-1 N toward Downtown - go 1.1 mi
• Continue on US-1 (14th St NW) - go 0.9 mi

• Turn left on Connecticut Ave.
• Walk North on Connecticut Ave for about 5 blocks.
• Bear right towards Columbia Road, NW by the Washington Hilton.

Parking your car during your stay at the American Guest House -

There is no parking at the American Guest House and parking on the street is prohibited since it is a residential neighborhood.  You'll get a ticket and cars with out of state license are targeted in this neighborhood. 

Public Garage parking is nearby at the Courtyard Marriott hotel located at the corner of Connecticut Avenue, and Leroy Pl, NW.  

• From the AmericanGuestHouse, turn left onto Connecticut Avenue,
• The garage is on Leroy Pl but it is a one-way street so go past Leroy and turn right into the next alley way.
• Turn right at the next alley.
• Turn right onto Leroy Pl. 
• The parking garage is on your left.
• The garage charges $28 per night.

Parking is also available at the Washington Hilton Hotel at corner of 'T' and 19th Streets for $28 per day.
