Meet Chef Kevin

Chef Kevin, born in Buffalo, NY, movked to the Washington D.C. area to pursue a career in cooking at the International Culinary Schools at the Art Institute of Washington. After graduating, he worked for Robert Wiedmaier at Wildwood Kitchen, and Mussel Bar Bethesda. He works at The Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, VA, in the evenings.

“My grandmother was always an inspiration. I would love to just be around her and learn her recipes brought down from generation to generation. She has been my biggest influence in the food that I create,” Chef Kevin says upon reflection of his biggest aspiration in his career choice.

Classic breakfast dishes are created for morning specials: eggs benedict, French crepes, and corned-beef-hash with fried eggs.  However, dish pairings guests have not tasted before are served as well: maple bourbon banana pancakes, honey grits with sauteed vegetables under a poached egg, and eggs florentine with roasted red pepper chardonnay sauce.

American Guest House Breakfast Special

Chef Kevin’s cuisine flair is accredited from his travel to England, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Prague, Turkey and Germany.  Come taste his vibrant breakfast specials at our Washington DC Bed and Breakfast.

Everyday is something different and with the creative liberties Chef Kevin takes, the cultural cuisine is all over the map. From tex mex, to Spanish, to southern comfort, we have it all to make your taste buds want more. American Guest House pushes the limit on what our guest are used to for bed and breakfast food. We strive to offer high-quality meals with low-cost accommodation. It is our love for the customer that makes cooking with passion that much more enjoyable.

And the conversation, of course, is on par with the quality of our food. We consider our guest to be friends, both old and new, and each brings a different outlook to the breakfast table; making the monotony of a morning routine turn into an open floor to discuss: politics, love, family, religion, tourist ideas, news, children, and  stretch the walls with laughter because from 7:30-9:30 A.M., there is no better place to be than our Washington DC Accommodation.

We try to accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests, please inform us of any restrictions/requests when you make your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.  In some cases we may need at least 72 hours prior notice.
