Chef Kevin’s Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
Guest staying at our Washington DC bed and breakfast wake up to the warm cinnamon smell crawling up the wood staircase, squeezing under the door cracks and filling rooms with that cozy, winter comfort-food flavor.
Chef Kevin, born in Buffalo, NY, moved to the Washington D.C. area to pursue a career in cooking at the International Culinary Schools at the Art Institute of Washington. After graduating, he worked for Robert Wiedmaier at Wildwood Kitchen, and Mussel Bar Bethesda. He works at The Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, VA, in the evenings.
“My grandmother was always an inspiration. I would love to just be around her and learn her recipes brought down from generation to generation. She has been my biggest influence in the food that I create,” Chef Kevin says upon reflection of his biggest aspiration in his career choice.
Classic breakfast dishes are created for morning specials: eggs benedict, French crepes, and corned-beef-hash with fried eggs. However, dish pairings guests have not tasted before are served as well: maple bourbon banana pancakes, honey grits with sauteed vegetables under a poached egg, and eggs florentine with roasted red pepper chardonnay sauce.
Chef Kevin’s cuisine flair is accredited from his travel to England, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Prague, Turkey and Germany. Come taste his vibrant breakfast specials at our Washington DC Bed and Breakfast.
Truly, what other Washington DC hotel runs the gamut with breakfast specials? Chef Kevin is serving eggs benedict with a red-pepper chardonnay sauce, puff pastry sandwich, pumpkin waffles with apple-cider syrup, french omelets, malted
pear pancakes, apple sausage cheddar quiche. While this is just some of the menu items, the creative flair that orchestrates in the kitchen is bringing unique cuisine choices to impress any traveler.
And the conversation, of course, is on par with the quality of our food. We consider our guest to be friends, both old and new, and each brings a different outlook to the breakfast table; making the monotony of a morning routine turn into an open floor to discuss: politics, love, family, religion, tourist ideas, news, children, and stretch the walls with laughter because from 7:30-9:30 A.M., there is no better place to be than our Washington DC Accommodation.
We try to accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests, please inform us of any restrictions/requests when you make your reservation and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. In some cases we may need at least 72 hours prior notice.
