The Brewers Association Annual Meeting

The Brewers Association Annual Meeting will be held on March 26-29, 2013 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC. If you are  coming to attend the conference  why not stay at our hotel?  We are located less than 2 miles away from the convention center!

10th Annual Washington International Education Conference

Planning to attend the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and National Science Foundation (NSF) conference on “Transforming Undergraduate Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics from January 23-25, 2013, in Washington DC?

Heading to Washington DC for the Ryan White Grantee Meeting?

The Ryan White Grantee Meeting will be held from November 27th – November 29th in Washington DC at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. Based on its website, the goal of the conference “focuses on identifying strategies for improved systems of HIV/AIDS care and treatment as well as increasing grantees’ knowledge of programmatic and fiscal requirements in accordance with the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009.”

If you plan to attend the Ryan White Grantee Meeting and haven’t yet booked your accommodations, you should definitely consider us as your home away from home. If you want a post-election debrief RootsCamp in DC is the place to be

RootsCamp will be held from November 30th – December 1st in Washington DC at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.The goal of the conference is to provide participants (i.e. progressive organizers an activists) with an intensive election debrief as well as insights on into scoring post-election work. There will even be a job fair.

The Gaylord National Hotel

The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center is one of the largest hotel and convention center of the North East Coast located in National Harbor, Maryland and owned by Gaylord Hotels, a division of Gaylord Entertainment Company.

The hotel is situated along the shores of the Potomac River, downriver from Washington, DC, and across the river from Alexandria, Virginia which is about 12 miles from our Washington DC B&B.

For many of our guests who attend conferences or events at the Gaylord National, the easiest and the fastest way to go over there will be to take a cab from our DC Guest House. It will take you approximately30 minutes and will cost you around $35/one way.

You can also ride the metro but it will take you an hour and half to get to the Gaylord National Hotel: you will need to go to U street metro station and then take the green line towards Branch Ave. From there you will need to get a cab. Overall it will cost you around $15.

134th Annual Easter Egg Roll at The White House!

Make this Easter the best ever!  Every year the White House opens up its South Lawn to over 35,000 people for the 134th Annual Easter Egg Roll.  Anyone can register at the White House Web Page for a chance to be entered into a lottery sponsored by Rec.Gov and register by March 5, 2012.  Winners will be announced March 12, 2012 and the event will be held on April 09, 2012.  Register soon and get a chance of a lifetime. Admission is free and open to one submission per household.  Tickets are non-transferable.

The American Guest house is located only a mile from the White House and transportation (42 Metro Bus) runs every 10-15 minutes in front of our door ($1.75 Fare).
