A morning in Georgetown

After a delicious Breakfast at our lovely DC Inn begin your morning  at the Washington Harbor for its sunset on the Potomac right on the Waterfront. Take a pleasant walk along the river before heading up the service visitor center for the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. In summer, mule riders are offered, with expert guides who will tell you the story behind the Canal and the area.

Continue up to Thomas Jefferson Street a short block and cross M street, NW. In front of you will have one of the oldest houses of Washington DC: the Old Stone House which has been lovely preserved by the National Park services. The interpreter that you will find over their will recreate some of the daily activities that might have taken place in the house in the late 18 century.

After that you will enjoy the view of Grace Church which was built for the spiritual need of the workers on the canal. The ground with their amazing trees, make the location a peaceful and relaxing rest spot.

Recross Wisconsin Avenue and stop by Baked & Wired Cupcake in Georgetown for a little snack. Before an afternoon of “retail therapy” (a lot of boutiques in Georgetown), enjoy a lunch at Clyde’s of Georgetown!
