Smithsonian Hands-On Forensic Anthropology Lab

Fan of the infamous TV show Bones? If so, make sure you include the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History’s hands-on forensic anthropology lab as part of your list of things to do in the city. It is the only interactive exhibit in the world that allows visitors to touch and examine real human bones. This is a fascinating combination of anthropology, history, and anatomy all in one! The summer hours are Monday-Friday (closed Wednesday) from 11 am – 5 pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 11 am – 4 pm. The exhibit is located on the National Mall, just two miles from one of the best and most accommodating Washington DC Weekend Getaways.
