The National Postal Museum

One of our guests this week went to visit the National Postal Museum  which is part of Smithsonian Institution and he highly recommended it. The museum is located in the old Post Office building next to Union Station. The Museum was created in an agreement between the Smithsonian Institution and the United States Postal Service in 1990 and was opened to the public in 1993.

The museum is open from 10am to 5:30pm 7 days a week. The museum is closed on December 25th. Admission to the museum is free.

Take the Red Line to Union Station, and use the Massachussets Avenue exit for easy access to the museum. As you get exit the metro station, the National Postal Museum will be across the street. For additional travel information, please visit Metro’s website.
