Are you trying to see Washington DC in one day?

Whether you are driving or flying into Washington DC, its always best to consider parking your car, refreshing yourself and get some quick tips from the locals on events going on during your stay in DC.  If you are arriving by night, checking into a hotel is the first thing many visitors like to do.  Here at the American Guest House Bed and Breakfast, we will greet you at the door, provide you with a quick check-in, and escort you to your room. Our Washington DC hotel can accommodate early check-in’s for our guests arriving early, but you are always more that welcome to secure your luggage with our Innkeeper while you sight see for the afternoon.

Now, for the easy tour in a day of Washington DC.  Your best bet is to head to the White House first, from there you can check out maybe 4-5 of your favorite Smithsonian museums on the National Mall.  In between the American History Museum and the Holocaust Museum, you have the entire west side of the Washington Monument that you can visit to start your national mall trip of the Smithsonian or to finish your trip off.

VISITORS BE ADVISED!  Some tours require a 30-day advanced application for all guests prior to entrance such as the White House.  Check with your local state representatives website to submit your request.  Also, during peak seasons, free “scheduled” passed are handed out to visitors that require you to return at a later time during the day due to occupancy restrictions.  Therefore, it may be best to check in with your top Smithsonian Museums first.

Don’t forget the Washington DC National Zoological Park.  If you are staying with us, we are a 15 minute walk to the back entrance of the zoo and only a block away from Connecticut Ave which the front entrance in located.
