Points of Light Foundation National Conference – June 2013

The Points of Light Foundation will be hosting their National Conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC from June 19-22, 2013.

Points of Light Institute helps people get involved in solving some of the world’s greatest challenges. By inspiring, equipping, and mobilizing people to make that change happen.

Points of Light’s Conference on Volunteering and Service June 19-22, 2013

Points of Light’s Conference on Volunteering and Service will be held from June 19-22, 2013 in Washington DC at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The conference will gather over 5000 volunteer service leaders and social entrepreneurs together for networking, information-exchange, and sharing best practices.

American Academy of Physician Assistant’s (AAPA) 41st Annual Conference

The American Academy of Physician Assistant’s (AAPA) 41st Annual Conference will be held from May 25-29, 2013. Held at the Walter E. Reed Convention Center in Washington DC, the AAPA Conference will serve as a premier networking event for physician’s assistants (PAs), and will cover over 250 educational topics. The event is expected to draw over 6000 PAs to the region, and is being held only about a 1/2 mile from our hotel lodging near Dupont Circle.

Women’s Suffrage Centennial Celebration in Washington DC this weekend

March 1, 2013 – 8:35 pm

The Suffrage Centennial Celebration, honoring the 100 year anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage March in Washington DC, will be held in the nation’s capitol this weekend from March 1-3, 2013. The celebration commemorates the centennial of the date Inez Milholland and other women’s suffragists led a crowd of thousands through the street of Washington, to fight for women’s right to vote. A re-enactment of the March will take place along the original parade route– along Pennsylvania Avenue– on Sunday March 3, beginning with a rally at 9 a.m. on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Some streets in Washington will be closed or delayed for the procession.
