Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics

From June 3 to June 4, 2103, the World Bank in Washington D.C. will host the Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics (ABCDE). This event is known for presenting and discussing cutting edge insights related to international economic development. Dedicated to promoting a dialogues between researchers, policymakers, and professionals working in development, the Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics creates an opportunity for various organizations to interact and exchange best practices that impact their mission goals. For this year, the focus of the two day event will be “Risk and Vulnerability” and what organizations can do to identify and manage risks.

Points of Light’s Conference on Volunteering and Service June 19-22, 2013

Points of Light’s Conference on Volunteering and Service will be held from June 19-22, 2013 in Washington DC at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The conference will gather over 5000 volunteer service leaders and social entrepreneurs together for networking, information-exchange, and sharing best practices.

2012 NCRC Annual Conference, Washington DC

The 2012 NCRC (National Community Reinvestment Coalition) Annual Conference will be held at 525 New Jersey Avenue NW Washington, 20001 on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 9:00 AM – Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 4:00 PM (ET).

Our Guest house is located near the DuPont Metro Station (walking distance) and a short ride on the metro to Judiciary Square Metro Station.

Oktoberfest 2011: Washington DC

Oktoberfest, a beer festival that runs between 16-18 days long, beginning in late September running through early October. The festival originates in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Washington, DC has a number of festivals held throughout the city celebrating beer, German food, music and dance. Washingtonians wouldn’t miss their chance to join in on the ”The World’s Largest Fair”. Please see some suggested venues below.

Biergarten Haus: This local Bavarian biergarten is located on the H Street corridor in NE Washington, DC. They will be offering special Oktoberfest drafts and will have live musical performance and food to celebrate the festival. The Biergartenhaus is accessible by metro bus X2 or the 90.

Das Best Oktoberfest: Will be taking place at the National Harbor. The celebration will take place on September 25th -26th. There will be international wines and beers. A home microbrew contest, German food and all sorts of contests. Purchase your tickets on site for $35 for Saturday or $55 for Sunday’s festivities. The National Harbor is accessble my metro bus and metro rail.

Blocktoberfest 2011: A Washignton, DC Oktoberfest music festival. There will be 10 bands featured as well as party areas and activities. You may purchase your tickets in advance online. The music festival takes place on September 24th from 2pm to 10pm, and is accessible by the Navy Yard metro station serviced by the green line.
