Bed & Breakfast?

Some friends of mine were looking to stay in a hotel while visiting DC last summer and were expecting to stay at the normal hotels that come to mind.  When I introduced them to the idea of staying at a local bed and breakfast, they immediately though, “We can’t afford anything fancy or romantic.”  I am not sure if it is a cultural stigma, but I was quick to inform them that many bed and breakfasts overseas are in-expensive and a great way to get a real feel for the city or town they are visiting.

Bed and Breakfast locations can be affordable and often provide a cultural setting with 5 star hospitality services.  Since most bed & breakfasts are not franchised or anything but a chain hotel, you know you will be getting the best service from owners who take pride in their business and customer satisfaction.

After taking my suggestion, my friends stayed in a bed and breakfast location in Ireland while visiting family this past winter and they look forward to many more B&B inn’s during their future travels.  The last thing anyone wants to feel like is a stranger while traveling.  Like many Bed & Breakfasts, you can be sure that you will feel like you are staying with family, be given helpful information in the city you are visiting and a much more personable relationship with your innkeeper and staff.

Pleasant Travels!
