FLIGHT CANCELLATION AND FLIGHT TRACKER INFORMATION

We all know how frustrating it can be, especially when traveling in a foreign country or away from your area and suddenly flights are cancelled or changed, airports are closed due to hurricanes, snow storms, etc, and for some reason you can’t use your cell phone to make calls, hopefully you can at least use the Internet to do some quick checking and here are some very useful links for you to check your flight status.

Worldwide Flight Status
Live Flight Tracking
List of Airlines for you to call- This option is the least recommended in times of trouble because most people will be calling causing a long await.

Please keep us in mind when looking for Washington DC Lodging

We are located about 5 miles from DCA – Washington Reagan National Airport. You can take a taxi, shuttle or metro.  About 29 miles from AID – Dulles International Airport. From here you can take a taxi but it is costly, a shuttle, or bus/metro and about 30 miles from BWI – Baltimore Washington International Airport.  From this airport you can also take a taxi but it will be costly, a shuttle, or bus/train/metro.

BWI to Union Station on the Amtrak!

Just last week I booked a very inexpensive flight from Baltimore, MD (BWI) to Tucson, AZ (TUS) for only $214 on Delta Airlines!  Great deals are abundant when traveling through BWI but getting there can be a rough journey.  A few weeks ago I posted a public transportation route on the Metro (Green Line) from Green Belt to BWI on the B30 bus line.  I found a route that was actually much faster.  At only 21 minutes travel time, the Amtrak offers one-way tickets from Union Station to BWI for only $14.

Book your reservation online at the Amtrak website to check availability.  The reason I decided on the Amtrak was because my flight time was outside the normal operating hours of the B30 bus route.  The Amtrak has one stop between BWI and Union Station at (Red line, few minutes away from our DC Inn) the New Carrollton Metro Station.

Enjoy and Safe Travels!
