DC Music Scene

A lot of people believe that all we do in DC is politics, but that’s not accurate at all. The District loves its films, food, festivals, and music. In fact, this week (and in some cases, every week) for live music you have your choice between THE BOSS (a.k.a. Bruce Springsteen), original members of Bob Marley’s The Wailers, the Latin American Harp Festival, the Columbia Stations Jazz Session (which is just up the street from our lovely Washington DC Lodging), the Washington Concert Opera, and many more. This city’s free or inexpensive entertainment doesn’t stop at the Smithsonian museums. There are tons of free or cheap venues around town to catch live indie rock or outdoor jazz. Honestly, it wouldn’t be surprising to accidentally stumble across such a venue in DC, since they’re all over town.  In keeping up with loads of free things to do in this great Nation’s Capital, this historical Washington DC Hotel also offer free delicious gourmet breakfast, cookies, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, city maps, luggage storage, and more.

The Diner, Adams Morgan, Washington DC

Whether you are looking for a late night snack or for a delicious breakfast, The Diner  in Adams Morgan offers a variety of things to eat and this local favorite spot is open 24 hours a day!  The Diner offers filling fare for even the frugal man’s budget! The Breakfast menu includes ”adult milkshakes” in flavors inspired by favorites like “Good Humor’s creamsicle” bar, with a grown-up twist. If you enjoy a Croque Madame, then you’ll love the “Croque and Dagger”: two eggs over easy on French bread, with your choice of bacon or ham drowned in creamy béchamel sauce and Gruyere cheese. The “Black and Blue Burger” is a personal favorite: an all-beef burger blackened with Cajun seasonings, topped with blue cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion on a toasted potato bun. Also, don’t forget dessert. The “Wild Berry Pie” is delicious…

The Diner is located in the heart of Adams Morgan at 2453 18th Street NW, just past the intersection of Columbia Road and 18th Street just 5 minute walking distance from our Dupont Circle B&B. You should expect to spend $10+ for a meal here.
