Washington DC Theatres

E street Theatre

Voted “Best Place to Watch a Movie” by the Washington Post Express, this theater hosts many independent, foreign, indie, classic revival, documentary-style and your-not-so-average-blockbuster films.  People go over there without even checking what the theater is  showing, and leave it to chance!  You can tell they’re very purposeful in their selections, and the theater is small enough to feel very personal.

Their movie line up continues to be an array of interesting and dynamic films from across the globe. Not only that, but it’s easily accessed by the Metro Center metro stop right in the heart of the city.

The atmosphere is pleasant and they serve a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, regular movie treats  like popcorn which is amazing and some other goodies. So, if you’re in the mood for something a little unusual, see what they have playing! You can also join their Film Club to get access to free showings, upcoming engagements and filmmaker appearances.

If you have a student ID, take advantage of their student discount. Also, films before 6pm on weekdays and the first showing of each screen on weekends is a discounted $8, even cheaper than the student discount!

E Street: 555 11th Street, NW (On E St. between 11th and 10th)
