Landmark’s E St Cinema – DC’s well kept secret

e st cinema

Washington D.C. isn’t known for it’s vibrant film culture – even with an annual film festival.  However, Landmark’s E St Cinema gives traveling film buffs their independent, foreign language, and documentary film fix.  As one of D.C’s few art houses, E St serves an important function as a purveyor of culture – exposing us to narratives that transcend language and geopolitical boundaries.  Plus, they sell beer!

During your stay at our Washington DC lodging, make sure to stop by the E St Cinema.  Getting there is easy, it’s one two metro stations away from the DuPont Metro Station. If you prefer, you may take the 42 bus – which drops you within a block of the theater. Please see map for more details.

We look forward to your stay,

The Warner Theater, Metro Center, Washington DC

One of our guests went to see the Capitol Steps beginning of April and gave us a good review about this theater, so we decided to “blog” about it!

The Warner Theater, originally called the Earl Theater was built in 1924 during the boom of grand theater houses and served as a venue for vaudeville and silent movies. It once boasted a rooftop garden and a famed restaurant in the basement. The theater has transitioned since then to motion pictures only eventually serving as a prime venue for live performances. Today you will find a variety of shows playing at the Warner Theater. Please visit the website for a list of upcoming performances.

The Warner Theater is accessible by the Metro Center metro station, serviced by the red, blue, and orange lines. Please visit metro’s website for additional information. If you ride the 42/43 bus from our DC B&B Inn, it will take you only 15 minutes to get over there.
