Ballston Barber Shop, Virginia

If you happen to be staying with us for a few nights and need a great barber shop, I suggest the Ballston Barber Shop.  Located off the Orange Line (Virginia Square/GMU Metro), this is the finest location I have been to in the DMV area.

The price is average ($16) and the service is amazing.  Included in your Gentlemen’s Haircut of choice, a hot towel treatment as well as head and neck massage.  The attendants are incredibly cheerful and always welcome you back with a smile.

901 N Pollard Street, Arlington, VA 22204 (703) 243-5542

Enjoy!

Hours for Pubs/ Liquor Store Purchases in MD, DC, and VA

Whether you are out on the town, or looking for a quick place to grab your favorite drink, DC is the place help make that difficult.  With hours varying for types of alcohol you may purchase at certain times, and depending on which of the state you may be at in the DMV area, it can get confusing.

District of Columbia: Bars/Restaurants – Can serve alcohol Mon-Thur (8am-2am) Fri-Sat (8am-3am) and Sun (10am-2am).  Liquor Stores/Supermarkets may sell from 9am-10pm 7 days a week but Liquor Stores are closed on Sundays.

Virginia: Bars/Restaurants- 7 days a week from 6am-2am Liquor Stores/Supermarkets Every day from 6-12am.

Note: in both Virginia and Washington DC, Distilled Liquor is only sold at “Liquor stores” and not supermarkets.

Maryland: Maryland is a complicated state where as each county has their own set of laws which vary greatly.  If you are in Maryland, I would recommend to contact a location in the area you plan to visit to get the most updated information.
