Ford’s Theatre “Death of a Salesman”

DC theatre lovers are in for a treat as the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic Death of a Salesman is coming to Ford’s Theatre this Saturday and running through October 22nd. Arthur Miller’s 1949 play explores the meaning of success as salesman Willy Loman reflects on what he lost amid his pursuit of the American Dream. In this iteration of the play, DC theatre veteran, Craig Wallace (A Christmas Carol, Three Sisters) will be playing the part of Willie Loman with the direction of Steven Rayne (Our Town, The Widow Sisters), and Linda Loman will be played by Wallace’s real life wife, Kimberly Schraf (The Laramie Project, The Widow Lincoln). The show will have performances every weekend as well as multiple nights during the week throughout its run – click here to see the schedule and purchase tickets.

During your visit to Ford’s Theatre, it would also be worth your time to schedule a visit to Ford’s museum. At the museum, you will get to see an in-depth look at Abraham Lincoln’s presidency and the spot of his infamous assassination. Your tour will include information on the Civil War, the conspiracy led by John Wilkes Booth, and much more. Take note that tickets are required for both the museum and a tour of the theatre, so be sure to book them ahead of time as tickets are limited. Tickets are only $3 and they include museum admission, a theatre walk through, a visit to Peterson House, and the Aftermath Exhibits.

The Ford’s Theatre is located in downtown DC at 511 10th St NW, just about a 10-minute drive from our DC B&B.
