CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference

February 26th-March 2nd is the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference being held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, near our Washington DC bed and breakfast. The CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference will bring together thousands of professionals across the country to remind legislators and regulators the importance of credit unions to the American financial partners. The conference will also be a great opportunity to connect and network at social events with other credit union professionals and attend sessions to learn from some of the best in the business.

Who should attend CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference? The conference is designed for credit union presidents, Board members, executives, Governmental affairs specialists, public relations officers, CUNA council members, association officials, supervisory committee advisors, young leaders, and anyone who has an interest in the future in the credit unions.

This year’s keynote speakers are: Businessman and humanitarian Derreck Kayongo, Journalist Bob Schieffer, and Kat Cole. Derreck Kayongo will be discussing how individuals can make a difference in his session entitled “Harnessing Your Power To Create Change.” Kayongo will delve into his professional career and the elements that made it successful – Service, Education, Leadership and Faith. Bob Schieffer’s session “Political Outlook from a Political Leader” will cover how Schieffer covered the White House, Pentagon, the State Department, and Capitol Hill as well as interview every President since Richard Nixon. These keynote speakers will provide an educational opportunity and a chance to unify together and bolster the message.
