2017 National Native Seed Conference

February 13-16 the 2017 National Native Seed Conference will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, near our Washington DC bed and breakfast. The National Native Seed Conference is designed to bring together Research, Land Management, Restoration and Industry professionals for an opportunity to develop relationships and provide information about collection, production, research and development, and use of native plant materials. The conference will consist of sessions, panels, symposiums and workshops covering a wide variety of topics relating to seeds and the ecosystem.

2017 National Native Seed Conference will be a great opportunity to attend informative sessions and to meet people from all over the country from all walks of life. Some of the sessions offered this year will include, “Ecological resilience, adaptation and emergency preparedness – the need for seeds”, “National Park Service policies for seed collections and use”, “Beyond Climate: Incorporating Novel Factors into Seed Transfer Guidelines”, “Seed coating technologies: seed enhancement or marketing?”, and many more.

In addition to these sessions, there will be field trips to a variety of locations around the city on Monday, February 13th. The field trips that will be offered are: the U.S. National Arboretum, the U.S. Botanical Garden Production Facility, U.S. National Herbarium and the National Insect Collection, Norman A. Berg National Plant Materials Center, and the Dumbarton Oaks Park.

Registration ticket prices are $400 if made before January 13th, $450 if made by February 10th, or $500 if you buy you ticket on-site. One-day tickets are also available for purchase. The conference has a block of hotel rooms reserved for the event for $179 plus tax per night for attendees. If you’re looking to save some money during your trip to DC, check out our room rates.
