Presidential Inauguration Day DC

The Presidential inauguration will be an exciting time near our Washington DC hotel in the heart of Dupont Circle. If you have never been to one, please know that places like the Washington DC Hilton book up fast.  This will be an exciting time in Washington DC. It’s also a great time arena to visit the memorials and museums, so it can be a family vacation, too. We’ve compiled information on how best to prepare for this event. There are proper dos and don’ts that will make this enjoyable as opposed to stressful. And with the countdown nearing the end it’s better to be prepared than surprised.

The complete process of the Presidential Inauguration Day will take place around noon on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. It will be cold, so make sure you dress warm and in layers. It’s better to be over prepared with these things! As the vice president-elect and president-elect, whomever that will be, taking the Oaths of Office, followed by the inaugural address, this will be a high traffic area. You must have a ticket to attend the swearing-in-ceremony, so be sure to research what you want to participate in with the inauguration. Tickets are free, but they’re in high demand, as one would assume of course, and you can apply through your local representative or senator’s office—but act fast so you aren’t left behind with the Presidential Inauguration Day activities. Alas for those that will be in the nose-bleed section, giant video screens and audio systems will stream the proceedings to you and many viewers who will be watching.

Get reservations with restaurants in early, too. It will be an extremely busy time, and the details will matter on making this trip one that can be shared for years to come.
