2016 American Legion Washington Conference

Coming up later this month, the American Legion is putting on their annual Washington Conference from February 2st through the 24th, 2016, at the Washington Hilton, across the street from our Dupont Circle Bed and Breakfast.  One of the many unique aspects about this conference is that there is an effort to make it a family affair, so that spouses of war veterans can build their own community.  In order to help push this initiative, the American Legion has organized a “Wives’ Luncheon/Outing.”  Also, the organization is a big proponent of entrepreneurship and has set aside a good portion of one of the conference days to discuss and present ideas on business development, and how a veteran fits into that type of landscape.  In addition, there is a Heroes Women’s Entrepreneurship Course that is geared towards the females who are more inclined to learn from concrete examples of women in the military who have made a name for themselves in the boardroom.

Blackhorse productions made a documentary about the history of the American Legion.  Here is a segment from the documentary, be sure to contact one of their representatives if you or someone in your family might be interested in this organization!
