Fiesta DC will be celebrating their 43rd year this September 21, 2014 with their Fiesta DC Latino Festival. Fiesta DC is a non-profit organization that sponsors and supports multiple events throughout the year for the Latino Community of Washington, DC. The Latino population in DC is growing rapidly and the festival continues to grow in attendance with this year expecting around 180k to attend.

The mission of Fiesta DC is to preserve, promote, and diffuse the Latino culture by focusing on building the organization and the capacity of the community with participating in the events they hold throughout the year. The festival features a Parade of Nations that displays the Native Latino cultural dance groups from civic organization, schools, and performers. The festival is also giving back to the youth, granting 3 winners of a scholarship essay contest $1,000 for a college fund! Another feature of this event is to celebrate the winner of The Miss Fiesta DC Beauty Pageant that will take place the weekend before this festival.

Fiesta DC is a free festival, taking over the neighborhood, bringing together dozens of non-profit organizations, community leaders, and members of the corporate and private sector. Our Washington, DC Hotel is a quick metro ride to Pennsylvania Ave and Constitution Ave, where the festival will take place. The Latino population is nearly 10% of DC’s population, celebrating their culture is important to the community of DC. We hope to see you in September for the Fiesta DC 2014!
