This year the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International holds the Affordable Meetings Exposition & Conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, just northwest of our DC Inn.The conference will be held on August 20th and will last until the 21st.
Meeting and event planners find suppliers for their meetings and events for things like poster board for displays, publishing, catering, and promotional prizes for guests. In order to create an effective and profitable business, meeting planners must learn how to minimize the extra costs that go into planning events. The conference will feature nearly 3,000 planning professionals, with $1.5 billion in collective annual budgets, and will put buyers in contact with suppliers. The conference will be a hodge-podge of attendees from all sectors, but planners will have an easy time finding someone who shares a common interest in the industry. We hope planners decide to join when they search for accommodation.
