Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) “Is the only organization that defines, teaches and promotes design-build best practices. Members are connected to a network of over 4,200 leaders in the design and construction industry.” — dbia.org What does it mean? What exactly is a member of DBIA? “Members span the entire spectrum of design and construction professions including, architects, engineers, specialty contractors, public and private facility owners, attorneys, industry consultants, business development professionals, students and faculty.” –dbia.org
DBIA is branched off of Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT)–a labor management partnership. With that, DBIA will be pairing up with other industry partners this August 19 through August 21st at the Omni Shoreham convention center, next to our DC accommodations. This event will provide attendees networking and educational opportunities. Members attending this conference are federal agency/owners, designers, and builders.
Omni Shoreham hotel is off Calvert street giving guest an excellent opportunity to visit some of DC attractions during their stay. This area is also tucked into a restaurant hub which will give members a wide variety of dinning options. Public transportation is available just blocks from the hotel as well as the Smithsonian National Zoo.
