This year’s joint meeting of the Council of State Archivists, the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators, and the Society of American Archivists (SAA) will come together at the Marriott Wardman Park, next to our Washington DC hotel. These national associations are meeting August 10th through the 16th to share stories, exchange memories, and most importantly to learn from each other. This convention will be a great time for members old and new to celebrate one another’s aspirations within this community.
The program is for archivist at university, social activist, students interested in learning about archive records, federal workers, writers, and those in non-profit. There is truly something for everyone. What will make this experience memorable is perhaps fellow archive enthusiast congregating to enjoy company of common interest.
This year’s Archive Records theme: Ensuring Access, is intended to be broad for session proposers. There is an excited interest in this organizations’ committee to eliminate boredom and increase diverse attention. Session formats will be at a maximum of 75 minutes so a wide variety of topic discussion can move through. With this exciting agenda in the heart of DC, everyone will be able to enjoy what the program has to offer.
