This July 21st to August 11th, the Mall in Washington DC will have a different movie playing every Monday night beginning at dusk (around 8:30- 9:00pm). Screen On The Green is a free event! Just a short walk from our DC hotel, Screen On The Green is Located at the National Mall between 7th and 12th Streets. Public parking is very limited in this part of the city and on-street parking in Washington, DC is restricted during the evening rush hour, but the National Mall is right off the Smithsonian Metro. Local movieenthusiast begin to claim their spots around 5pm, so make sure to show up early with your favorite picnic blanket and some snacks to share. This is the festivals 16th year.
The movie line up starts on 7/21 with Karate Kid (1984) 126 Min. PG Rated; 7/28 with Lover Come Back (1961) 107 Min. Not Rated; 8/4 with Key Largo (1948) 100 Min. Not Rated; and 8/11 with A Soldier’s Story (1984) 101 Min. PG Rated. Each movie will be shown on a giant 20′ by 40′ outdoor screen. Movies will be cancelled for extreme weather and alcohol is not allowed at these events.
