Buddhism has drawn many adherents as a practical spiritual path suited especially for a modern world rife with powerful cultural and spiritual distractions. American Buddhists will meet in Rosslyn, VA June 19th – 22nd at the Artisphere Spectrum Theatre for Buddhafest, which will feature films, talks, meditation, and music, all programs that highlight contemporary Buddhism’s perspective on mindfulness, compassion, and peace. Speakers include the notable mindfulness guru, Ram Dass (via Skype, on account of a recent stroke), D.C. native Tara Brach, and notable spiritual author, Sharon Salzberg.

The American Guest House enjoys meeting people from all walks of life and who adhere to various spiritual backgrounds. While our innkeepers are hardly spiritual gurus, they do want to ensure that our guests feel the loving embrace of our D.C. Inn. We also provide wise counsel in the form of expert dining recommendations, great places to take mindfulness walks, and quiet space in the lobby for meditation. Our guesthouse is respectful of dietary restrictions and will provide accommodation in such cases.
Our D.C. B&B hopes to see attendees from the 2014 Buddhafest later this month!
