Music just, well, makes a person feel good! It has the power to turn a bad day into a manageable one; heartbreaks survivable; the trials and tribulations of life more palpable. To encourage musical talents, Chorus America Conference will be in DC this June 10-12. Gathering close to our Washington DC accommodations, the conference will take place at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel (located in the Penn Quarter district).

Come June, artistic directors, board members, composers, and fundraisers will all congregate to learn new, fun strategies to inspire choruses with initiative to, “… keep choruses ‘cool,’ the role that the arts and arts management play in society, and making the stories that drive our organizations come to life….” –chorusamerica.org.
Hosted by The Choral Arts Society of Washington and The Washington Chorus, the program is formatted to provide guidance from chorus experts to the conference attendees. The four-day event will involve new methods, fundraising fundamentals, inspirational speeches—to motivate those fundraisers!—a night at the Kennedy Center, attracting-new-people seminars, and posture for singing. However, the said highlight for the conference is the fellowship. Indeed, there is no better way to celebrate one’s passion than with people who understand what it takes to foster, grow, and maintain those gifts.
Make sure to pick your ears up in June to listen for the people who help create the music that drives us to do better, and be better.
