Arthritis is today a well known illness, but there are still many misconceptions about the nature of the illness and the extent to which it impacts our society. Today more than 50 million adults live with Arthritis that is about 1 in every 5, and that’s just those who have been properly diagnosed. It doesn’t only impact our elders, but also children more than 300,000 under the age of 18 have Arthritis and of all the people who have Arthritis 2/3 are under sixty five - already you probably realize this illness if far more prevalent than you originally imagined.

Fortunately there are a growing number of experts on this widespread illness. With many dedicating their lives to the betterment of both our youth and our elderly (and all those in-between) who live with it day to day. The Arthritis Foundation is famous for its effectiveness in gathering both data and consensus in the promotion of cures and enhanced techniques to combat the effects of Arthritis.

Every year the Board of Directors gets together with top advocates to address the most pressing topics of the year in making even greater progress. The convention is called aptly the Advocacy Summit and this year they will be meeting from March the 24-26th at the Capital Hilton – not far from our Washington DC Bed and Breakfast which hopes them only the very best!
