In a town filled with global influence… there are lobbyists for everything – even bankers. One such organization is ABA or American Bankers Association which organizes a Government Relations Summit every years to make themselves heard on Capitol Hill. The issues they use to galvanize their industry leaders to attend the summit focus around excessive regulation, industry principles and organizational unity.
The spotlight is often given to community banks at these summits, not large multinationals to stress the localized impacts of national regulation. This year the Government Relations Summit 2014 will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert St. NW Washington DC 20008 – not far from our Washington DC Inn. ABA focuses its events on the optimism of its members in their ability to influence congress and other national policymakers.
Any clarion call certain to be heard in a town both made of and adherent to the influence of money, big or small – or so the AVA aspires.
