Diseases are terrible. They take away loved ones unexpectedly, they cut short our lives in ways we can never believe and they devastate communities. Breast cancer has been at the forefront of this battle for some time, raising awareness about detection and medical treatment and improving technology have long been challenges we as a people have faced. This is why it’s great to see progress being made across the spectrum by brilliant professionals in a collaborative atmosphere.
This spirit is perhaps best embodied by the BC3 Breast Cancer Coordinated Care Conference. Which will be taking place February 20-22, 2014 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington DC – not far from our affordably priced and warm American Guest House in Dupont.
These conferences can be intense, as the subject matter is dire, however the continual hope for improvement keeps people attending, year after year. It’s also what keeps us watching (those of us not attending) for continual updates, waiting, time after time for the eventual notification that this disease has been eradicated – problem solved. But it takes time and likely many more conferences to come… and we welcome each to our community.
