NAIMUN 2014 – North American Invitational Model United Nations

Every year a diverse group of young scholars converge on the nations capitol – Washington DC – to attend the North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) convention. The event is held by Georgetown International Relations Association, and is invite only.

NAIMUN is by far the largest student-run Model UN convention in the world. Since 1963 there have been over 50 years of successful conventions with 3000+ delegates. The idea is to apply the practice politics of students to real life situations inspired by the US capitol, government tours and the Social Justice Round-table – all of which aim to harness and empower students to actively seek change in this world.

If last years end-of-session promo is any indicator of excitement or passion experienced by event-goers then consider this event ‘worth-it’ by any label might choose, from cool to prestigious.

This year it will be held from the 13th-16th of February 2014.
